Balancing Kapha
Kapha people have larger bodies. They usually have good health although they can be overweight. Kaphas have good stamina and a strong constitution; they are often beautiful with a calm, compassionate expression. Kapha people tend towards water retention and can suffer from congestion and sluggishness, especially in the morning. They are often sweet natured, patient, tolerant and forgiving, but they can also be possessive and even lazy at times. Kaphas dislike frantic activity and prefer stillness and quiet. They may seek emotional comfort in sweet foods or carbohydrates.
If you are Kapha you need to: -
- Add extra stimulation in your life
- Take regular exercise, preferably every day
- Avoid sweet, dairy and heavy foods
- Vary your habits and routines
- Keep warm and dry
- Avoid excess humidity and dampness
- Avoid overeating, eat a sensible diet
- Treat yourself to massages to stimulate circulation
- Drink warm fluids in moderation
- Talk out your problems rather than turning to food for solace
- Avoid the inclination to oversleep or daytime nap
- Try sauna, in moderation
- Learn to be as kind to yourself as you are to others
- Think of something that makes you feel enthusiastic, then go and do it
