Balancing Vata
Vata people love change and excitement. They are usually slim, with dry hair and skin and often have poor circulation especially at the extremities. Variety is the spice of life for a Vata person; they love activity, exercise, travelling and can be restless. Vatas can be worriers, and tend towards feelings of anxiety or fear, living ‘off their nerves’. Although a Vata person can feel ungrounded and lack confidence, they are often clear-minded and even clairvoyant, with a vivid imagination. They do all things quickly and need to take care to avoid becoming fatigued.
If you are Vata you need to: -
- Keep to a regular routine
- Have a quiet time each day, to be calm
- Drink before you feel thirsty, taking warm fluids
- Learn to meditate
- Keep warm, dress warmly
- Eat regular meals, avoiding cold foods
- Get enough rest
- Avoid stress and mental strain
- Be in a light and cheerful environment
- Be in natural sunlight and fresh air, (while avoiding sunburn and wind)
- Use moisturisers on your skin
- Have regular steam baths
- Slow down and take your time
- Think before you act or speak.
